Grieg's friends, sources of inspiration and admirers - welcome to a concert with the Edvard Grieg Choir in Troldsalen!

Edvard Grieg's friends and admirers were many. Ole Bull opened up a world of folk music and fiddlers, and in his young years Leipzig professor Moritz Hauptmann and the legendary Franz Liszt were important mentors.

As an adult, Grieg met the composers Johannes Brahms and Peter Tchaikovsky, among other things at a colorful New Year's celebration. Towards the end of his life, Grieg formed a friendship with the young pianist and composer Percy Grainger from Australia, and was warmed by his interpretations of Slåtte, opus 72.
