The Norwegian industrial adventure from the 19th century is over, but the old workshop halls can recreate the acoustics and sound of the massive European cathedrals where the masters performed their works. With Edvard Grieg Kor's evening concert on old Fritzøe works, we are lured into the angelic vocal world of the Baroque.
Edvard Grieg Kor returns to Larvik with a new version of Grieg's Holberg Suite, written for them by Jonathan Rathbone, musical director of the Swingle Singers. In this brand new work, they sing Grieg's entire orchestral works, together with Nordic folk songs arranged by Paul Robinson and contrasting madrigals by the Danish baroque composer Mogens Pedersøn.
Edvard Grieg Kor is flanked by Runar Kjeldsberg, who is back in Larvik with his historic guitar. Kjeldsberg has released the last album of 3, in a monumental project where he presents the French soldier and guitarist Francois De Fossa.
Guest performance by students at Larvik Cultural School, together with the Edvard Grieg Choir.
